Seasame Street created who I am. Yes, I mean Big Bird, Elmo and Cookie Monster. Strange, but true. It was since birth where my nursery at home was decorated with these characters and my video player had their sing-a-long songs on heavy rotation. Whether it was coincidence of my parents to raised me up on this PBS TV program or not, the pop-culture value has stuck with me ever since. Then at the age of three I hated the typical cartoons, and found comfort on MTV when Michael Jackson’s “Dangerous” album was in its prime. With this, at three, it defined my future. I knew I had a gift in mainstream music whether in whatever form I would express it. May sound cliché, but with having parents working in the hotel industry, the staircase in every hotel were always treated as a stage for me. Even back home, I would connect every table and chair together to created my “Pop” concert. My childhood was a musical. My toys were music tapes. My Super bowl was the Grammy Awards. My playground at six was a Michael Jackson concert with 50,000 people. I hated mathematic in school, but I love to calculate record sales, concert tickets and how much a musician would generate by having their song topping the charts. This is not a joke.

Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Clive Davis, New York City, Neon lights, Adam Lambert, Simon Cowell, David Lachapelle and Andy Warhol describes my visual and plays as an inspiration to me. Very color saturated, yet the master in their own mainstream art medium.

There’s this lame question that everyone asked me when I was a child “What do you want to be when you grow up?” and at age 4 or at age 19 I would still repeating my answer “Working in the media industry”. I didn’t want to become a police-officer or a pilot. You know, the sort of occupation needed to be said to look manly. Why? I was fearless in my passion, and being controversial and gain attention even infamously satisfied me.

Time to experience a commercially different personality in this limelight.

Lights and Gaga.

  1. Well said Kristoffer! Whatever you do in the end of the day will be a musical ballad I'm sure...

Keep it up and both 'Lights' and 'Gaga' will come your way!
